french herringbone parquet
The French herringbone parquet, or Chevron parquet, is a type of herringbone parquet that features both right and left-hand boards. The narrower ends of the French herringbone boards are cut at a 45-degree angle. In addition to the French herringbone parquet, there is also the Hungarian herringbone parquet, or Hungarian Chevron, where the ends are cut at a 60-degree angle. French herringbone parquet is a beautiful, elegant solution, and this pattern has been laid in castles and manor houses since the late 16th century. The French herringbone is available in three different construction types - made entirely of precious wood, 2-layered on moisture-resistant birch plywood, and 3-layered on a softwood base. This parquet is predominantly made of oak or smoked oak wood, but as a special order, we can supply Chevron parquets made of other types of wood. There are several different grading qualities to choose from, from knot-free Premium grading to more robust Country grading. The product is available either unfinished or with a surface finished with varnish, oil/oil wax in various shades. The French herringbone is available either beveled from 4 sides or without bevels. In addition, the parquet surface can be brushed or aged. As a new solution, it is possible to order from France a Chevron parquet made from old recycled beams to achieve an old-looking floor that is new and of high quality.
